The Southern hemisphere’s largest lights display, Christmas Lights Spectacular, will be spreading holiday magic to families and friends from 8th November, 2019 until 26th January, 2020. This year, Hunter Valley Gardens will dazzle guests with stunning lights like never before with a series of newly created immersive displays.
The Christmas essentials are back this year. Families can take a photo next to the eight metre tall Christmas tree. And the littlies can visit Santa’s workshop, write a letter to the North Pole and get a photo with Santa Claus himself (until Christmas Eve)*. Little Scallywagz will be returning this year with their Rock’n Elfy’s show, perfect for the under 5s.
If your kids dream of experiencing a white Christmas, you can spend time at the White Christmas scene, where white treetops, a snow cave and arctic animals will transport them to a land far away. For an extra magical touch, take a walk through the new light tunnels.
At the Around the World display you put yourself next to some of the world’s most famous landmarks; including the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, Centre Point Tower, London’s Big Ben and Edinburgh Castle.
When the kids are ready to burn off some energy, there are inflatable zones, jumping castles and rides. We’ve been told that favourites include the majestic Venetian Carousel, a Ferris Wheel which gives you a beautiful view of the gardens from above, the classic Swing Chair and a 35 metre Superslide. I’m looking forward to visiting myself in a couple of weeks to give them all a try.
The Gardens giant Walk-Through Bauble will be back, as big and bright as ever, as well as the all-time favourites: the Princess Castle, Fairyland and Candyland.
