Are you heading to the Mornington Peninsula this summer?
Make sure you save time to visit Arthurs Seat Eagle. It’s a gondola system where you soar from Dromana to the summit and take in spectacular views of the Mornington Peninsula, across Port Phillip Bay to the Melbourne city skyline
We visited with the Nelson family from Melbourne to uncover what it’s really like.
What’s on summer 2019/20?
Soaring Santa Weekends – 14-15 & 21-22 December, 11 am to 3 pm
Start at the Arthurs Seat Eagle base station in Dromana and take a Christmas picture with a difference. Santa has abandoned his sleigh to take to the skies in a different way – for the cameras at least.
Santa will be available at the Arthurs Seat Eagle green screen to take that memorable holiday shot with the family, which can be downloaded across multiple devices.
Wedgie’s Eagle Eye
Board one of the immaculate, Swiss-made gondolas where the family can ascend to the summit. While enjoying the stunning 15-minute experience, the kids can participate in a next-level version of ‘I Spy’ with Wedgie’s ‘Eagle Eye’ hunt. A free map with checklist is available at the Eagle kiosk to encourage children to look for kangaroos, birds and even The You Yangs, among other sights.
Enchanted Adventure Garden
The Eagle Summit Café greets passengers on arrival for refreshments, savoury snacks, sweet treats or something heartier.
Make a day of it by walking over to the Enchanted Adventure Garden (around 10 minutes on foot) where an impressive zipline will make your kids’ day. ‘Tree surfing’, tube slides and the attraction’s renowned hedge and indoor mazes are also on offer.
Seawinds Gardens
Explore the picturesque walking tracks to Seawinds Gardens to view indigenous and exotic formal gardens, plus the William Ricketts sculpture collection.
Make the day even more relaxing with a bespoke picnic package from Arthurs Seat Eagle (book in advance), including a basket, a selection of food, drinks, and a blanket.
Don’t miss the ‘giant seagull’ roving entertainers, who will amuse the crowds at the Dromana base station on Boxing Day (26 December).
