Fall asleep under the stars with this pop-up family glamping experience in the Tidbinbilla wilderness these school holidays.
Back for its second year, the Tidbinbilla Family Wilderness Camp is part of WILDFest 2019. It includes a glamping package with dinner, breakfast and luxury tent, as well as special family activities designed especially for primary schoolers.
Join the Scavenge the Sanctuary, Fireside Culture Chat, Behind the Scenes at the Vet Centre, Aboriginal Hanging Rock and Life of a Ranger experiences.
As night falls and the wildlife comes out to play, go nocturnal with a CSI-inspired detective activity and infra-red camera. Toast marshmallows by the fire before snuggling up in your 6-metre Emperor Bell glamp tent. Tents are fitted out with beds, mattresses, linen and solar lighting. Public toilet facilities are available for use onsite. Wake to the sound of morning birds for a big brekky in the catering tent. Then, you’ll be free to wander the reserve, embark on a hiking trail or visit the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex.
Pick a weekend from 27th September to 12th October to share this exclusive outdoors experience as a family. Adult tickets are $295 and children are $195.
Check out the website for more info.
Tidbinbilla is a large Nature Reserve 40 minutes from Canberra. It is full of koalas, potoroos, rock wallabies, emus, wombats and more.
If grown-ups can snag a babysitter for a weekend away, WILDFest has a range of other experiences available. In fact, many of these are delightfully kid-free such as an overnight retreat in the Southern Highlands and a Highland Valley Forage degustation trail through Morton National Park as well as a Ghost Gum Astro Photography workshop at Lake Yarrunga.
