The travellers have spoken. London has just topped the charts as the number 1 destination of 2019. TripAdvisor has released their 2019 Traveller’s Choice awards and the results look a lot like our travel wish list.
The UK capital swooped into first place thanks to renowned tourist attractions such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and more. After London, the fan favourites were Paris, with a recommended visit to the Louvre, Notre Dame and Eiffel Tower, and then Rome. Crete, the largest of the Greek Islands, came in at number 4 thanks to its stunning Elafonsi Beach, Minoan relics and White Mountains. It was followed closely by another beachy hotspot, the ever-popular Bali. Our very own Sydney even got a mention in the top 25.

Brazil has the world’s top beach apparently, Baia do Sancho, although our home-grown Manly Beach (Sydney) managed to come in at 18th. Orlando, Florida, claims the top four spots on the attractions and amusement parks list, earning recognition for Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Magic Kingdom Park and more. And when it comes to experiences, TripAdvisor troupes fell head over heels for the Faster than Skip-the-Line Tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.
