The new Cleanliness Guidelines make the standards even clearer for property managers. Additional recommended measures include disinfecting high-touch surfaces, keeping a gap between bookings and stocking antibacterial handwashes and cleaners. The website also has a new feature on its property description pages allowing owners to communicate to guests what they’re doing to keep their holiday home spick and span.
The Stayz website also introduced a new Flexible Cancellation Search Filter. This means you can find listings that will offer a full refund if you cancel in time. Properties with the most flexible policies will be highlighted when you scroll.
Top family-friendly Stayz picks
It is worth checking out the website. Stayz has more than 50,000 properties across Australia, many of which are perfect for families. To get you started, here are the finalists for the best family-friendly properties on Stayz. Victorian families will be thrilled to see regional Victoria top the charts. However there are some perfect picks from inland NSW and the Gold Coast as well.
Bringing home the gold is Fingal House on the Mornington Peninsula. The luxurious homestead sleeps up to 24 and has multiple living zones perfect for a multi-generational getaway. Book ahead for summer to make the most of the designer pool and spa.
In second place is Cape Cabin in the atmospheric destination of Philip Island. The cosy property has five bedrooms, a private and expansive garden, multiple entertaining areas as well as a timber playground for the littlies.
Rye Family Oasis won the bronze for being a total kid heaven. As well as a swimming pool and spa, there’s also a trampoline, skate ramp and cubby house.
Other Stayz family-friendly finalists include Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat in the famous NSW wine region and Elouera Farm in Bundanoon, NSW. This barn-style building boasts bush views across the Morton National Park and has a slow combustion wood heater to cosy up to in the winter chill. The enclosed garden is ideal for dogs. Oh, and did we mention Topaz and Angel, the two resident goats?
We also like the look of Lotus Waters on the Queensland Gold Coast. The waterfront property has a billiard room, outdoor playground and private, sandy beach and would make for a good choice with family groups.
