Two incredible five-star Bali resorts are getting rave reviews from families online.
Both resorts are part of the Karma hotel group: Bali Karma Jimbaran and Bali Karma Kandara.
With private pool villas of up to five bedrooms, these resorts are a great place for a multi-family or multi-generation holiday.
But which one is right for your family? We sent Elina Von-Reiche to Karma Jimbaran and Karma Kandara to get the low-down on both resorts.
Karma Jimbaran Bali
Karma Jimbaran is on Bali’s sought-after southern peninsula, two minutes walk from Jimbaran Bay, with its glorious white sands and mellow surf.
“Perfect place, perfect timing, perfect service, food, location, people, cleanliness, comfortable villa, everything was arranged perfectly for our stay,” Sheika wrote online.
That’s just one of the many rave reviews of Karma Jimbaran online. Elina says the resort certainly lived up to the hype.
“The villas are sensational,” Elina says.
“The smallest is a one bedroom villa that can fit two adults and one child. The largest is the five-bedroom grand residence. It can fit ten adults and two children. It has four double beds and two single beds.”
The villas are all air-conditioned. Large windows offer sweeping views of the ocean or lush gardens. In the sticky heat of the tropics, it’s the pool that most families will rave about. Every single villa has a private pool.
“It was so easy to relax lounging on deck chairs, dipping your toes in the water and just staring out over the luscious gardens,” Elina says.
Inside the villas, families can expect space, elegantly-crafted furniture and all the amenities of home. Each one has Wi-Fi (we know everyone needs it), a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining table, mosquito nets, hairdryers, irons, a flat screen TV, barbecue and an alarm clock (not that you will need that). Families with little ones can even ask for baby safety gates and socket covers to be added to the rooms.
“The marble floors feel so lovely and cool underneath your feet on a hot day and every villa is soundproofed,” Elina says.
The resort’s restaurant The Bay Bar & Grill offers delicious breakfasts and seafood feasts made with fresh local ingredients.
Karma Jimbaran has a Kids Club called the Three Monkeys and babysitting services. We highly recommend you book time out and visit the Karma spa.
“A 45-minute massage the day after you arrive just makes all the stress melt away,” Elina says.
Adults can book spa treatments including hot stone massages and facials online.

Karma Kandara Bali
Karma Kandara is 20 minutes from The Uluwatu Temple on Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, known globally as ‘Billionaire’s Row”. Staying here will make you feel like a billionaire.
“Spectacular setting – it definitely has the wow factor. Beautiful villas with amazing private pools – very shaded gardens. Restaurant and spa out of this world,” Phillip wrote about the Karma online.
Perched high on the cliff-top Karma Kandara has sensational ocean views. Wander down to the water and you will find an exclusive beach club with sun lounges, a bar and watersports.
“The five-star service starts before you even arrive,” Elina says. “Karmas virtual concierge service contacts families before their visit to help plan their ideal itinerary.”
The concierge service is on-hand during your stay to ensure everything goes to plan.
Karma Kandara also has private pool villas from one bedroom through to five bedrooms. Each one is packed with amenities such as flat screen TV’s, full kitchens, ironing facilities, barbecues and cable TV.
The five-bedroom Nirvana Clifftop pool villa is the ultimate luxury.
“This villa has sweeping ocean views and infinity pool and a cinema room – I never wanted to leave,” Elina says. “At 822m this holiday villa is bigger than many people’s homes.”
The onsite kids club – Three Monkeys is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Kids aged 3 – 2 can take part in crafts, games, cooking workshops and even a magicians masterclass. Teens and parents are able to explore Bali with a range of exciting guided excursions. The hotel has babysitting for children under 3.
