The Shangri-La Hotel Singapore’s new kids area has a splash zone, a music studio, ball pits, slides and cooking workshop. It’s so good the kids may never want to leave.
Buds by Shangri-La on Orchard Road opened on January 26. It’s under four’s zone is kitted out with a piano floor mat, swings, slides and a ball pit. Older kids will love the water play area and giant pirate ship. The luxury hotel has even added a party room so kids can celebrate in style.
All kids are supplied with RFID wristbands, so grown-ups can enjoy some guilt-free R&R, kicking back at the Recharge Café at the Buds entrance. There is also a nursing room for mums and bubs nearby.
You don’t have to be a guest at the Shangri-La to make the most of this latest development, although you’ll wish you were. The luxury hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool, wading pools, jet fountains and more than 40,000 square metres of garden to explore. The hotel provides everything from strollers to travel cots and high chairs, to bibs and bath toys.
A dedicated family concierge welcomes guests to their room. And the rooms are large – up to 72 square metres in size for the themed family suites or deluxe family rooms. Kids will love the themed rooms. Choose from safari, treetops, castle or underwater. Each boast two bathrooms, loads of storage space, a pantry, sink and large fridge.
Singapore is one of the best cities for travelling with kids. It’s often called “Asia light” by expats because of the easy ability to dip in and out of Asian culture, it’s clean streets and efficient public transport.
