Hong Kong is one of the hottest destinations for families right now. Cheap sale flights have inspired many families to make a trip to Disneyland, explore the fabulous cobblestone streets of Central or cruise through Victor Harbour.
Hong Kong has plenty of hotels. But these are the Hong Kong hotels that are perfect for families.

Let’s start with Disneyland. Hong Kong Disneyland is an easy option for families. It is the biggest theme park in Hong Kong, followed by Ocean Park. But it’s not too large in comparison with other Disney parks. Families could easily tackle Hong Kong Disneyland in one day. Shuttle buses run from all the Disney hotels to the themepark as well as from Kowloon.
Disney Explorers Lodge

Disney Explorers Lodge rooms are furnished in one of four themes: Asia, Oceania, South America and Africa. The standard room in this hotel has two queen beds. Larger families can book connecting rooms. This hotel has 750 rooms.
Guests of this hotel also get a Priority Admission Pass for at least one Disneyland attraction, based on the room type booked.
The huge outdoor “raindrop pool” is a great place for the kids to cool down after a day at Disneyland. In the afternoon the hotel holds a pool party. Cast members lead cool games and kids can collect stamps for visiting each of the hotel’s four themed gardens.
The Explorers Lodge also caters to guests with special needs with accessible paths, rooms, restaurants and shops. It also has in-room communication kits.
The hotel offers babysitting services for an extra fee.
Guests have access to free WiFi. A complimentary shuttle service to Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, Disney Explorers Lodge and the Hong Kong Disneyland Park departs every 10 to 20 minutes.
The hotel has three restaurants and in-room dining. Food covers the five continents. Our favour has to be Dragon Wind – which serves rural and authentic Cantonese and provincial delicacies.

Disney’s Hollywood Hotel
Disney’s Hollywood hotel evokes all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. The standard room comes with two double beds and sleeps up to four people. Sea View rooms offer views over the South China Sea. This hotel has 600 rooms.
You must check out the pool at the Hollywood. It’s shaped like a piano, has a rushing rocky waterslide and a relaxing whirlpool. The Hollywood also has a games room and a playground for little ones. The lush gardens are dotted with vintage cars and mini famous landmarks.
The Hollywood Hotel Hong Kong has free WiFi for families and a designated Disneyland entrance. Kids will love dining here. Chef Mickey makes a heap of international food for a stunning buffet. Families can grab western and Asian delicacies at the Hollywood and Dine. Adults can grab a cocktail and a snack at the Studio Lounge – a great place to chill after a full day at Disney.

Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is a grand 400-room Victorian Style hotel on the shore of the South China Sea. Once again, every room here fits families. The standard room has two double beds. The difference with this hotel is that you can book suites. One of these is the Frozen suite which features Anna and Elsa inspired beds and a day bed in the shape of a sleigh.
The Hong Kong Disneyland hotel has an expansive outdoor pool with a 40m long waterfall themed slide and a whirlpool. Families will find another 107m pool indoors. This is a great place to swim laps or simply relax.
Little Disney Princess fans can get a princess makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on Level 1. Expect to be transformed into a magical character with hair, makeup, costumes and glitter.
Disney characters make surprise appearances daily on the stairs of the hotel and pose for dozens of photos with kids. Between the hotel and the sea, families will find a huge Mickey Maze. See if you can find your way through Mickey to the other side. The hotel also has tennis courts, a 24 hour, outdoor playground, live music and a gym.

Outside Disneyland
Away from Hong Kong Disneyland it can be harder to find a family room. But it’s not impossible. Here are a few we found.
Dorsett Mongkok, Hong Kong
The Dorsett Mongkok Hong Kong family quad rooms have a double bed and two single beds with incredible views over the Hong Kong skyline. This room has WiFi, a complimentary smartphone with 4G internet, a DVD player with cartoons, tea and coffee making facilities, a welcome gift for the kids, a well-stocked mini-bar and you can even request a microwave. The hotel does have cots, so you can add an extra child easily into this room. Most of the rooms are accessible with a wheelchair.
The hotel has a free shuttle service to downtown Hong Kong and the airport.

Shama Central Hong Kong
Shama Central has two bedroom serviced apartments for families. The apartments have a King bed and two singles, two bathrooms, a living room and a dining area.
The serviced apartments have a daily maid service, 24-hour security, an airport limousine service and a DVD library. Families can also utilise a free smartphone with unlimited local calls and data.
The location is hard to beat. This apartment hotel is in the middle of trendy Central, with easy access to ferries and incredible food. Peel Street is also known for the best coffee in Hong Kong.

The Jervois Hong Kong apartments
The Jervois Hong Kong has one and two bedroom suites for families. The apartments have complimentary wireless and fixed-line internet connections and a handly Smartphone with free IDD calls to 13 counties, unlimited local mobile data and hotspotting.
The Jervois provides welcome snacks and coffee capsules. They also have crockery and cutlery, so you can dine in.

Dorsett Wan Chai Hong Kong Hotel
The pick of the Dorsett Wan Chai‘s hotel rooms for families is the Executive Family Quad Room. Families with only one child, or single parents with two kids can also book a triple room. These spacious rooms have views over Causeway Bay. The Quad rooms have child-friendly amenities such as children’s books and teddy bears. The Ocean Suite is a little more expensive but it’s quite the experience. This room is decked out with kids toys designed to mimic Hong Kong Ocean Park.
All the rooms offer free use of a smartphone with unlimited 4G internet and IDD calls to eight countries.
The Dorset also has a free shuttle bus service to the major shopping centres, airport and train stations. The location is gare for families. Wan Chai is close to Centra and to the ferry services. This hotel is across the road from the famous Hong Kong Jockey club. If you wake up early enough you can see the thoroughbreds arriving for their morning trackwork. Our top tip – enter the racecourse early for a walk or a run. It’s free and an experience you won’t forget.

Cordis Hong Kong
The Cordis Hong Kong is one of the best central Hong Kong hotels for families. This hotel has a family quad room with two king beds, or four twins, or any combination of. This room has a 40 inch high definition television, with a selection of films and games. The Cordis also has a family trio room and a family two bedroom suite.
Cordis’ red panda mascot welcomes the kids to the hotel with a backpack of goodies including free to use smartphones (with educational games), a selection of toys, kids slippers, toothbrushes and bathrobes.
Children aged 3 and under eat free at Cordis. The hotel has four restaurants and bars. The menu includes kids’ sizes and nutritionally balanced meals. Each adult may bring up to two children aged 12 and under to enjoy complimentary breakfast buffet at The Place restaurant.
The spa here even has a kids’ menu with treatments for children of all ages.
Kids will love the rooftop pool – and the free fruit ice pops available during summer.

BP International House
BP International House has bunk bed family rooms that will fit families of four comfortably. Families can request a cot for an additional child if needed. The city view rooms have WiFI, wide-screen televisions and a fridge.
Families can dine at the Cafe by the Park or the Flamingo Lounge.
This hotel has a great location – close to the ferry terminals and a large park for the kids to run around.
