Do you ever look at super cheap flights and think “I bet that airline isn’t safe”? This story may help you feel a little bit more secure.
Airlineratings.com has released the latest figures on airline safety. As expected, most of the major airlines have all achieved seven out of seven stars. Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin are all on the list.
But what’s interesting is the number of smaller airlines who have a seven-star ranking. Jetstar, AirAsiaX and EasyJet all made the 7-star list.
Tiger Airways Australia has four stars, as does Jetstar Japan, Ryan Air Ireland and Scoot Singapore. However, Airline ratings include three of the seven stars from the International Saftey Audit. Should airlines choose not to participate – they will be deducted three stars. If you are checking the list (which you can do here) make sure you take note of where the airline lost the points.
The three lowest rated airlines are all from Nepal. Tara Air, Yeti Airlines and Nepal Airlines all have one star.
Two-star airlines include AirAsia Thailand, Iraqi Airways, Kam Air Afghanistan, Daallo Airlines Djibouti, Ariana Afghan Airlines Afghanistan, Blue Wing Suriname, Libyan Airlines Libya, Airlines PNG Papua New Guinea and NOK Air Thailand.
Here is the list of airlines considered the most-safe to fly. Each one has achieved a seven-star rating on Airlineratings.com.
