[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Singapore Airlines has been named the world’s best airline at the annual World Airline Awards.
Qantas fell just shy of the top 10 in 11th place. The Australian airline was ranked second in the world for business class. Qantas dominated the awards for the Australia Pacific region winning best first class, best business class, best economy class and best staff.
Virgin Australia was ranked 22nd. Jetstar was at number 46.
AirAsia was named world’s best low-cost airline (ranked 22nd overall). Garuda Indonesia won the award for best cabin crew. Emirates won best in-flight entertainment and China Southern won the award for the most improved airline.
The awards, announced in London this week, are based on surveys of more than 20 million travellers. They rated more than 335 airlines between August 2017 and May 2018.
