Dive with sharks in Sydney

Dive with sharks at the Sydney Aquarium Darling Harbour.

Ever wanted to dive with sharks? It is possible in Sydney.

The closure of Manly Aquarium earlier this year also saw the end of Sydney’s only shark dive. But now Sydney Aquarium has announced they will introduce Shark Dive Xtreme at their Darling Harbour aquarium from April 28.

Divers aged 14 and over can enter the aquarium’s tanks and swim with sharks and sting rays for 30 minutes. The curious animals love to greet newcomers to their tank and will swim close to visitors just to check them out.

“This experience is like no other, and it’s not for the faint-hearted,” says Richard Dilly, General Manager of Sydney Aquarium.

“Our colony of Grey Nurse Sharks range in size from one to three metres, and when you shark dive with us, you get to enter their domain without cages.”

Shark Dive Xtreme includes full diver training, all equipment, de-brief and a certificate of survival.

Underwater photos and video footage are also available for purchase at an additional cost.

Pre-book your fin-tastic experience of a lifetime at www.sydneyaquarium.com.au/tickets/shark-dive-xtreme – but only if you dare.
